The present invention relates to a material to be used notably in the manufacture of articles improving the comfort and/or protection of persons at the solid-solid interface with their contact environment, and containing an elastomer gel complete with: - a deformable and incompressible non-thermoplastic elastomer gel, - and a filler included in the gel, comprised of particles of which density is the same as or lower than that of the gel. Said particles are hollow glass beads of a density comprised between 0.10 and 0.14. This material is particularly suitable for the manufacture of articles useful in the preventive therapy of eschars (cushions, mattresses). The invention is also intended for use in these anti-eschar articles and other articles of comfort and protection employing said material. The manufacturing process for this material constitutes another aim of the invention.
