The seal is for two parts (10,12) with cylindrical faces (14,16) facing each other on the same axis (18). A cylindrical groove (20) is provided in the face of the outer part (12) in which are placed the two rings forming the seal. The first ring is in plastics and is in contact with the face (16) of the inner part (10) and the second ring (28). This ring is an elastic ring which cooperates with the first ring to press it onto the face of the inner part. The plastics ring (26) has a radial face (26a) which is in contact with the radial wall (20a) of the groove (20), an axial face (26b) which is in contact with the face and an oblique face (26c) arranged to cooperate with the elastic ring. The section of the plastic ring is in the form of a right angle triangle in which the longitudinal face (1b) is equal to the radial face (1a).
