The auxiliary closure for a meter connection, with a distribution chamber with a valve tube which can be sealed, has a closure for the valve tube (3) with two tubes (11,18) at the tube ends (9) which are closed at one end, are concentric and give sealing, and which can be rotated in opposite directions. They can be inserted selectively into a covering position within the distribution chamber (2) openings (17,19). A rigid outer tube (11) gives a sealed covering round the tube end (9), containing a rotating inner tube (18) which leads out through a shoulder (20) in the base plate of the outer tube (11) to an external rotating grip (22). The inner tube (18) is of plastics, pref. of PVDF, which can be expanded by water pressure to lie in a tight and sealed fit against the inner surface of the metal outer tube when in the blocking setting, as the tubes are rotated against each other to bring their openings out of alignment and prevent a flow passing through them.
