The arrangement includes a knife (1) which oscillates crosswise to a cutting direction, an electro motor (2) whose number of revolutions is controllable, and an fly wheel (3) driven by the electro motor. A connecting element (6) is revolvingly mounted though a mounting device (5) on the fly wheel, which extends on the other side to a part in a guide rail (9), which carries the knife. The mounting device (5) is radially adjustable along the fly wheel.
