The procedure switches heater (15) periodically on and off according to the measured temperature. The heating output is controlled by the temperature through pulsed operation, the pulse duration being changed according to the temperature. First there is a pulse and then a follow-up pulse sequence. The first pulse lasts from 4 to 6 min., preferably 5 min. Then comes one lasting 2 to 8 sec., preferably 4 sec. Then comes a switch-off period of between 4 and 8 sec., preferably 6 sec. The heater is a tubular radiant one on the evaporator. There is circulatory cooling.
