New mould closure unit for a plastics pressure injection moulding machine. The mould is at least two-part (1, 2). One platen (3) is fixed, the other (4) moving, and a minimum of two slide bars (5) transmit the closure force. The fixed platen is joined to the bars, the other moves relative to them. The novelty concerns the bars (5). Each has a tie rod (6) and an outer casing (7). These two components are pre-stressed against each other.
