The integrated position measurement provides the position of the engine piston and the position of the moving parts of the linear generator is provided by permanent magnets or markings associated with an extension of the piston, detected inductively or optically. The engine may be provided by a 2-stroke diesel engine with direct fuel injection, with additional current extraction via electrodes using the exhaust gas.
