The apparatus uses defined heating and/or cooling of the extremities and, at the same time, taking blood flow relevant measurement signals. Effect surfaces are provided on the extremities for their heating/cooling. These surfaces are connected in a low thermal loss manner with controllable heat sinks or heat sources. Measurement surfaces of sensors for photopulse measurement and/or temperature measurement and/or laser doppler flow measurement at the extremities are integrated in the effect surfaces and/or contact the extremities outside the surfaces. Psychological counter regulations are reflected in an identifiable manner as a response to thermal provocation during the cycle of the measurement signals. The effect surfaces are preferably two stable half shells (2) of heat conductive material.
