Cordless telephone available base station search method for dual-mode radio telephone

The base station search procedure is initiated periodically when a dual- mode radio telephone is operated in the mobile radio telephone mode, to allow switching to a cordless telephone operating mode when a utilisable base station is located. The identity of the actual radio cell of the mobile network is entered in a list before or after mode switching. The method compares the cell identity with the list entries during the mobile radio telephone mode for shortening the search procedure.
