The transmission system for positional information, by the mobile (2), may be automatic or initiated by the user, to derive information from an identification code received from the local cell (3) and stored in the mobile. The card (5) carries files controlling the interface between the mobile and the subscriber, in relation to the positioning service, as well as adapting the managing unit (1) to the protocol characteristics on the card. The files contain information on the type of positioning information used by the mobile, the type of occurrence setting off a transmission to the service managing unit, and other information, to be transmitted to the unit with the positioning information.
