The tank opening device incorporates a drilling and forward feed unit (5). There is a collecting container (7) rigidly connected to the drive unit (4). A control unit regulates the pressure in the cylinder and piston power unit (3) using a control valve, and also controls the drive unit of the drilling and forward feed unit. The pressure in the cylinder and piston unit during operation of the drilling unit is higher than after cessation of the drilling process.
