A domestic appliance has a panel (20) which is equipped with operating and/or display components (22, 24) and is inserted into a mount (26) in the appliance housing (10). Electric plug connectors (46, 50), that fit each other, are located on the panel (20) and the mount (26). The connectors (46, 50) engage with each other when the panel (20) is inserted or mounted and connect the control unit (40) electrically to the functional parts.
