The system maintains the enhanced pressure within a thermally-insulated cryogenic tank (14) holding a quantity of liquefied primary gas (16) at cryogenic temperatures. When liquefied primary gas is tapped from the tank, there is an unwanted drop in pressure unless remedial action is taken. The novelty is that a tube (18) carrying a quantity of heated secondary gas passes through the cryogenic tank (10) and the secondary gas passes through the tube (18) under the influence of a valve (22) and heat exchanger (20). Also claimed is a method using the above system.
