Optical storage unit for electronic data

摘要

The optical storage unit uses materials with narrow absorption and emission bands with widths of less than 25 nm between values of 50 percent of the maximal band amplitude. Different data can be retrieved through suitable reading at different wave lengths. The different data are preferably provided by selective placement of different materials in a spatial distribution, which absorb and emit narrow bands at different frequencies. The materials are combined and placed in such way, that a reading of different data is possible at different wavelengths for each value of the data.
