The invention relates to a device for injecting light into the end of a multimode optical fibre by means of a single-mode optical fibre pin-end (1). In order to enable relative broadband signal transmission by multimode optical fibre the pin-end (1) disclosed in the invention has a light discharge area (13) where its sheath (3) is surrounded by an outer layer (4) made of a material with a refractive index which is higher than the refractive index of the sheath material.
