COAXIAL SWITCH

A switch comprises a housing (9) having a cavity (7) for receiving a pin (6) of a mating connector. The cavity (7) is dimensioned to accommodate a pin envelope (33) which is defined as a volume occupied by the pin (6) when the pin is installed in the cavity. The housing (9) holds first and second contacts (10, 20). The first contact is arranged to be clear of the pin envelope. The second contact has a resilient contact arm (24) which extends into the pin envelope and is arranged to be deflected by the pin, wherein the second contact becomes disengaged from the first contact when the pin is installed in the cavity.
