PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a loopback test from a master station to a slave station, regardless of the provision of a transmission delay time function of the slave station. SOLUTION: In the optical communication system of passive double star(PDS) configuration, in the case of a loopback test from a master station A to slave stations B1 -Bn , the test is controlled such that not the existing time slot but an outgoing subscriber slot is used for transmission data to a loopback concerned slave station. On the other hand, the concerned slave station loops back the data received by the outgoing subscriber slot to the master station A by using the incoming subscriber slot, without any modification. Thus, the loopback control is attained, regardless of the transmission delay time function of the concerned slave station. |
