PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording paper excellent in waterproofness exhibiting good curtain coating properties. SOLUTION: In an ink jet recording paper where a coating layer is provided on a base paper, the coating layer contains a synthetic amorphous silica, an aqueous binder, and a cationic polyacrylamide having molecular weight of 500,000-1,200,000. In the ink jet recording paper, the cationic polyacrylamide preferably has a cationic valence of 1.5-5.0ml/g and the coating layer is preferably formed by means of a curtain coater. |
