RED PASTE FOR COLOR FILTER, COLOR FILTER FORMED BY USING THE SAME AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a red paste for color filters which yields red filters having the compatibility of high color purity with high transmittance by using red pigments and orange pigments as essential components. SOLUTION: The red pigments and orange pigments are used as the essential components of the pigments of the red paste for color filters consisting essentially of the pigments, a polymer and a solvent. The transmission spectra of the red filters has a shoulder at 550 to 600nm. The transmittance of 560nm of the transmission spectra of the red filters is higher than the transmittance of 520nm of the spectra. The transmittance of 560nm of the transmission spectra of the red filters is higher by >=2 times than the transmittance of 520nm of the spectra. The two-times differential curve of the transmission spectra of the red filters has the maximal value between 540nm and 560nm. The weight ratio of the orange pigments in the entire pigments is preferably 50 to 80% and the weight ratio of the red pigments 20 to 50% in this red paste.
