PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To seal and project a nib by opening/closing a cover without necessity of attaching or detaching a cap. SOLUTION: In the writing instrument in which a cover 2 is opened by interlocking a coupling part to retracting or forwarding a slider 3, a nib 9 of a writing unit is projected, and the cover 2 is rotated to close its opening by interlocking the coupling part to forwarding or retracting of the slider 3 to sealingly engage a pen core site within a sealing chamber 20a, a flexible part 21 is formed between a front end 22 and a rear end 23 of the chamber 20a to form a sealing cylinder 20 longitudinally movable at its rear end 22 and front end 23, and coupling or interlocking means of the cover 2 to the slider 3 is constituted in combination of a pin and a long window. Further, coupling or interlocking means of the cover 2 to a shaft is constituted by a pin and a long window. And, at least one of the means is such that the window integrally has a straight part and a substantially semicircular or tapered cam window. |
