摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink ribbon and a thermal transfer printer in which oblique feeding of paper can be prevented through a simple structure. SOLUTION: A base film 11 is coated, at a specified width (corresponding to the width of the printing face 16 of a sheet 15), with an ink 12 and then coated, at the marginal part on the opposite sides (corresponding to the left and right marginal parts on the printing face 16 of the sheet 15), with a transparent or white thermally fusible adhesive material 13 thus constituting an ink ribbon 10. The thermally fusible adhesive material 13 has higher adhesion than the ink 12 being transferred onto the sheet 15. A print head 21 heats up an heating element selectively depending on a print data and transfers the ink 12 from the ink ribbon 10 onto the sheet 15 and heats up an heating element at the part of the thermally fusible adhesive material 13 thus transferring the thermally fusible adhesive material 13 to the marginal part 17 on the sheet 15. Alternatively, lateral balance of the print data is detected and the heating element at the part of the thermally fusible adhesive material 13 is heated selectively to compensate for the unbalance.
