PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge the days until the harvested tomato is colored to red. SOLUTION: Vibration is applied on 2 tomato 1 before harvest or within 12 hours after harvest by a shaker 2. The vibration imparted to the tomato 1 is accurately measured by an acceleration sensor 3. Furthermore, the vibration of the upper surface at the opposite side of the vibration applying part of the tomato 1 is measured without contact by using laser Doppler vibration meter 4. The frequency response function between the input and the output of the vibration imparted to the tomato 1 is computed, and the resonant frequency is measured by a peak detecting means. The days until the tomato is colored to red is judged from the resonant frequency by using the relational expression formed beforehand, and the tomatoes are selected for the respective days. |
