PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the allowable deviation amount of a deviate registration detecting pattern by forming the deniated registration detecting pattern with the same width as or a width larger than the pattern reading width of a pattern reading means, through the use of a pattern forming means body. SOLUTION: A registration sensor 13 consists of for instance a CCD sensor for sampling the deviated registration detecting pattern formed on a transfer belt by an image output part 5 and is oppositely arranged to correspond to a previously set image forming position, above the transfer belt, on the downstream side from an output part for an image at the tail end. Further, the registration sensor 13 executes a sampling operation at sampling timing by instructions from a sampling control part 14 and the obtained sampling data is stored in a data storage part 15. At the time of detecting the deviated registration, the image output part 5 forms the deviated registration detecting pattern with the same width as or the width larger than the pattern reading width of the registration sensor 13. |
