PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring the two-dimensional distribution of desired ionic concentrations in a short time. SOLUTION: This method is so designed that a medium 26 with microorganisms 28 cultured therein is set up so as to come into contact with the sensor face 7 of an optoscanning two-dimensional concentration distribution measuring device s constituted as to have the sensor face 7 on one side of a semiconductor substrate and irradiate the semiconductor substrate with probe light, and the change in concentration of a chemical substance altering by metabolism of the microorganisms 28 is observed as a two-dimensional image. In this case, if the chemical substance is acidic, the medium 26 is made alkaline, while, if the chemical substance is alkaline, the medium 26 acidic. |
