Distance measuring device

A distance measuring device projects light pulses towards the subject to be photographed, and PSD 3 receives the reflected light. Its output is amplified 40 and integrated 50 before being compared with a threshold. The numbers of pulses for the integrated outputs to reach the threshold are used to determine distance. Integration occurs only within a selectable part of the pulse repetition interval.
