PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a remedy for endotoxin induced disease capable of promoting the production of TNF-α (tumor necrosis factor-α) and suitable for sepsis, shock disease of gram-negative bacteria disease, etc., by including histatins of human-born salivary protein as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This remedy for endotoxin induced disease comprises (A) histatins such as histatin 5 of the formula, histatin 6 and histatin 3, of human- born salivary protein as an active ingredient, and further, preferably, (B) lactoferrin as an active ingredient. The divided dose of the component A is an amount corresponding to 0.2-10.0μM concentration in blood and administered one or several times per day. The divided dose of the component B is preferably the amount corresponding to 5-50μg/ml concentration in the blood. |
