<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover material composition for a golf ball to give good resilience, soft hitting feeling equal to a string wound golf ball, superior durability, and a good appearance, by distributing diene based rubber into ionomer resin and thermally linking diene based rubber. SOLUTION: This cover material composition for a golf ball consists of ionomer resin and diene-based rubber and is obtained by distributing diene-based rubber into ionomer resin and thermally linking diene based-rubber. The cover material composition consists of 50-90wt.% of ionomer resin and 10-50wt.% of diene-based rubber and the particle diameter of dispersed diene based rubber is not larger than 5μm. Further, the shore D hardness of the diene-based rubber is 55-80 and the diene-based rubber is butadiene rubber. The cover material composition has tanδequal to or lower than 0.07 at 0 deg.C and the shore D hardness 45-62.</p> |
