NEW DERIVATIVE AND ANTITUMOR AGENT COMPRISING THE SAME AS ACTIVE INGREDIENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound, capable of manifesting antitumor activities based on suppressing actions on the inflow of blood into a tumorous tissue and useful as an antitumor agent having a low toxicity. SOLUTION: This compound is represented by formula I Z is a group represented by formula II [X is methylene, hydroxymethine, etc.; (n) is 1-3] or a group represented by formula III (A is H or CH3 ; B is hydroxymethyl, ethyl having one or two OH groups, etc.); (m) is 3 or 4} or its acid addition salt, e.g. 4-[(3S,4S)-(4hydroxytetrahydrofuran-3-yl)oxy]-2(1-piperazinyl)-5,6- trimethylenepyrimidine. The compound represented by formula I in which Z is the group represented by formula II is obtained by reacting a compound represented by formula IV with a compound represented by formula V (R<1> is an OH-protecting group; X<1> is methylene, hydroxymethine protected with R<1> , etc.), further reacting the resultant product with piperazine and subsequently removing the protecting group R<1> of the obtained compound.
