PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electric vehicle as useful as gasoline- or diesel-powered vehicle by achieving long range between chargings, which has been limited in conventional electric vehicles, while minimizing air pollution. SOLUTION: A generator 2, which generates electricity by combusting an inflammable fuel, an electric electric motor 7 which rotates the driveshaft of an electric vehicle 1, and a battery 6 which is charged by electricity supplied by the generator 2 and simultaneously supplies power to the electric motor 7, are built altogether in the electric vehicle 1. To drive the electric motor 7, the generated power is supplied to the electric motor 7 when the generator 2 is in the power generating mode. When the battery 6 in not sufficiently charged, the generator 2 supplies power to the electric motor 7 and as well as to the battery 6. When the generator 2 is in the stopped, the battery 6 supplies power to the electric motor 7. |
