PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a gradation display reducing a pseudo outline in a moving image by dividing a unit field to plural sub-fields with different relative ratios of luminance, containing the sub-fields with the relative ratios of specified luminance and gradation expressing to become display, non-display corresponding to the relative ratios of the luminance. SOLUTION: A control part 6 reads out a video signal converted by an A/D conversion part 3, a code conversion part 8, and stored in a frame memory part 4 to write it in a plasma display panel(PDP) 7 by a drive part 5. At this time, the sub-fields with the relative ratios of the luminance not a an exponential of 2 are contained, and the hourly arrangement of the sub-fields is made order of the luminance. Then, the state of the sub-field S1 with the large relative ratio of the luminance in n (n>=0) gradations is made the display, and the state of the sub-field S2 with the relative ratio larger than that by one of the luminance is made the non-display. Further, when a carry occurs, the gradation display is performed so that the state of the sub-field S1 in n+1 gradations becomes the non-display. |
