PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic recognizing method and device by which the action and behavior of a moving body such as a human being, animal, or machine is automatically recognized. SOLUTION: Measuring instruments 2, 3 for measuring the change of state caused by the action and behavior of a subject 1 are fitted, and the characteristic amount of the action of behavior being now carried out by the subject 1 is extracted from the measuring signals through a characteristic amount extracting part 5, and the correlation between the extracted characteristic amount and the reference data that are included in the characteristic amount data base 6 of the action or behavior previously stored is obtained by a signal processing unit 7 for recognizing the action or behavior. The motion or hehavior of the heighest correlation characteristic amount is output as the recognizing result. |
