<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently fractionate optically active compounds of a high optical purity by subjecting an enantiomer mixture of 3-benzazosine derivative to the optical resolution through chromatography using a separating medium of polysaccharide. SOLUTION: An enantiomer mixture of 3-benzazosine derivative of the formula (R<1> and R<2> are each a 1-6C alkyl, R<3> is a 1-6C alkyl, a 2-6C alkenyl, an aralkyl; R<4> is H, a protecting group of hydroxyl) is subjected to optical resolution through chromatography using a separating medium comprising a polysaccharide or its derivative (preferably optically active substance) to fractionate optically active substances. As a separating medium, is preferably cited cellulose tris(3,5-dimethylphenyl carbamate) supported on a silica gel carrier, whereby the objective optically active compounds can be efficiently fractionated in high purity.</p> |
