<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet recording fluid which is improved in storage stability, can give prints improved in water resistance, light resistance and color reproducibility and is free from nozzle clogging by mixing a specified water-soluble dye with an ehtylenediaminetetraacetic acid alkali metal salt, a water-soluble organic solvent and water. SOLUTION: This fluid is a solution prepared by mixing 0.1-5wt.% colorant (water-soluble dye) (A) being a magenta dye represented by the formula [wherein R1 to R3 are each H or an alkyl; X is phenylene, diphenylene, naphthylene or a moiety to give -NR3 -X-R3 N- being 1,4-piperazinylene; M is an alkali metal, a quat. ammonium ion or H; (n) is 1-5; (m) is 1-5; and (l) is 5-(m)] and at most 50wt.%, based on component A, another water-soluble dye optionally used to match the hue with 0.01-2.0wt.% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid alkali metal salt (B), 10-30wt.% water-soluble organic solvent (C) selected among polyhydric alcohols having a hydroxyl functionality of 3, alkylene glycols, alkylene glycol lower alkyl ethers and mixtures thereof and 60-90wt.% water (D).</p> |
