PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce wear resistant high gloss decorative laminate by improving surface hardness of a laminate pressurized plate. SOLUTION: A pressurized plate has alumina grains on the pressurized surface and is used to produce decorative laminate from paper impregnated with a resin. The pressurized plate having resistance properties for scratch marks is produced by covering the pressurized plate with diboride selected from the group consisting of hafnium diboride, molybdenum diboride, tantalum diboride, titanium diboride, tungsten diboride, vanadium diboride or zirconium diboride or the mixture thereof in at least 2,000 Vickers hardness. Desirable diboride is titanium diboride and zirconium diboride. The most desirable diboride is titanium diboride. Color, gloss and surface appearance of laminate pressurized by the pressurized plate covered with titanium diboride essentially are the same as laminate pressurized by the pressurized plate before covering. |
