Electrical connector between a pair of printed circuit boards

The connector has a right angle housing with two sections (54, 56), each with sixty openings spaced with centres two millimeters apart. A plastic sleeve (64) is mounted in each opening, each sleeve has an electrical contact (66) with a prong (68) within. The exterior surface of the housing sections are plated with a grounding layer (74). Located between each of the prongs and insulated from them are contact points (76), these are connected to the grounding layer. The contact points are arranged so four surrounding each prong and ensure there is no leakage between adjacent prongs. Deformable pegs (86) extend from the housing (54), each has a tip (88). These are connected through holes in a printed circuit board (90), the tips squash to form a rounded tip tightly locking the housing to the circuit board.
