PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording material, and a production method thereof, in which a fluid ink is dried quickly while exhibiting high dye density, resolution and gloss. SOLUTION: A recording material comprises at least one porous thin film layer between a dye receiving layer and a supporting layer and/or on the outside of the dye receiving layer. A thin film basic material is provided on the supporting layer using a polymer solution and processed using an appropriate coagulant thus changing the basic material into a substantially unexpended state. Finally, the dye receiving layer is formed using an aqueous solution of a binder, a coloring matter fixing agent and other supplementary substances.
