PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable zip code number conversion through converting operation at the time of ordinary document preparation by performing retrieval from a zip code dictionary wherein number strings representing zip code number and address are registered corresponding to each other when a number string is inputted, and outputting the retrieval result. SOLUTION: A KANA(Japanese syllabary)-KANJI(Chinese character) conversion part 16 performs retrieval from a KANA-KANJI conversion dictionary 20 by a dictionary retrieval part 18 according to input data. The KANA-KANJI conversion part 16 decides whether or not there is a number string representing a zip code in the inputted character string and when the corresponding number string is present, the dictionary retrieval part 18 performs retrieval from the zip code dictionary 22. Then the KANA-KANJI conversion part 16 generates a KANA and KANJI mixed sentence by using the result of the dictionary retrieval (preread) as to character strings (reading) that are retrieved by the dictionary retrieval part 18 and inputted so far and the retrieval result of the zip code dictionary 22 and sends the generated sentence back to a control part 10 together with conversion candidates. The control part 10 displays the result of the KANA-KANJI conversion on a CRT, etc. |
