<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image which is bright and high-contrast even in corners of a screen by setting the first end surface position of an optical means and the diaphragm position of a projection optical system to be a conjugate relation and setting the second end surface position of the optical means and the position of a reflection type optical modulation device to be a conjugate relation. SOLUTION: A light source 1, the front end surface 5-1 of an integrator 5, a position (light source image A) where a reflection mirror 7 is arranged and the aperture diaphragm position 13 (light source image A') of a projection lens 14 are set to be a conjugate relation. It is preferable that the light source image A is formed by reducing and forming the image of the end surface 5-1 of the integrator 5 so that the mirror 7 is easily arranged. Besides, the back end surface 5-2 of the integrator 5, a liquid crystal display panel surface (image B) and the screen (light source image B') 15 are set to be a conjugate relation. Thus, the bright and high-contrast projected image obtained by reducing brightness irregularity and color irregularity is formed on the screen 15.</p> |
