Device for reducing gear backlash

The backlash elimination device is for the gearwheels (9,11) of the spaced cylinders (02,03) of a rotary press. It has one cylinder (02) with an adjustable gear segment (13) engaged with the gearwheel of the other cylinder (03). The clearance between the cylinders can be adjusted during operation of the printing press. The gear segment of the first cylinder can be set relative to the first cylinder by a phase setting transmission (14). The phase position of the gear segment relative to the gearwheel of the first cylinder can be adjusted during operation.
