PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a glassy carbon material suppressing the occurrence of density distribution and micropores by adding a specified additive to a thermosetting resin before curing when the resin is cured and fired to produce a glassy carbon material. SOLUTION: A fatty acid ester type nonionic surfactant having an HLB of 110 is added as an additive to a thermosetting resin before curing. The pref. amt. of the additive is 0.01-10 pts. wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the resin. The resin is not especially limited and furan resin, phenolic resin or phenol modified furan resin may be used. Polyoxyethylene sorbitan monolaurate or polyethylene glycol monostearate is preferably used as the additive. |
