PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hair cosmetic containing water-insoluble particles having a specific particle diameter and a water-soluble polymer, hardly causing the coagulation of the water-insoluble particles, improved in storage stability and capable of imparting natural luster to hair. SOLUTION: This cosmetic contains 0.001-10wt.% of water-insoluble particles having an average particle diameter of 0.2-1μm and 0.001-20wt.% of a water-soluble polymer. The water-insoluble particles include the particles of styrene- divinylbenzene copolymer, and the water-soluble polymer includes xanthane gum. Thereby, the stability of the cosmetic is improved, and the water-insoluble particles can be selectively adsorbed to the edge parts of hair cuticles. The conditioning effect of the polymer gives the hair cosmetic reduced in the creaking and hard touch of hair in spite of the particle composition system.
