The circuit arrangement for a three-phase converter consists of a chopper circuit with four controllable semiconductor switches (11, 12, 13, 14), of a drive circuit controlling the chopper circuit (II) and of a clock generator connected thereto. The drive circuit produces two control pulse trains, phase-shifted through 180 DEG with respect to one another, and two control pulse trains which are phase-shifted through 180 DEG with respect to one another and through 60 DEG with respect to the first two control pulse trains. At least two of the control inputs of the semiconductor switches (11, 12, 13, 14) are connected to the drive circuit without a transformer (24, 25) connected between them. <IMAGE>
