PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep station maintenance stable even in case of some failure in a thruster. SOLUTION: Six ion thrusters 22 to 30 are fitted, three ones A, B and C fitted around the north and the other three ones D, E and F fitted around the south of the zenith face 32 of a three-axis stabilizing satellite. All of thrusters A to F involve a thrust axis passing through the center of the mass (CM) of the satellite. By jetting a northwest thruster 20 and a northeast thruster 24 in the vicinity of an orbital ascending node and jetting the southwest thruster 26 and the southeast thruster 30 in the vicinity of an orbital descending node according to a predetermined jetting period, respectiveΔV accelerating components in the vertical, tangent and radial directions are generated for orbital control of the satellite. By jetting the north central thruster 22 in the vicinity of the orbital ascending node and jetting the south central thruster 28 in the vicinity of the orbital descending node, theΔV components in the vertical and radial directions are generated to conduct momentum braking, thus it is possible to conduct inclination angle control in case of some failure.
