PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the data transmission system with high reliability where occurrence of system-down due to production of errors is less. SOLUTION: In this transmission system, data are transmitted between a master storage device 1 of a node (n) and that of a node (n+1) via an interface crossbar switch device 6. A remote controller 2 adds control bytes consisting of an identification flag V or the like for valid data and idle data from the master storage devices 1 to each of data. An optical signal transmission reception controller 3 inserts a plurality of the control bytes to different data groups and adds an error correcting code (ECC) to each data group and provides an output to an optical signal transmission reception control section 7 via an optical fiber 5. The optical signal transmission reception control section 7 detects occurrence of an incorrectable error by the ECC in each data group and discriminates occurrence of a failure only when the incorrectable error is produced in valid data to stop the system. |
