The invention relates to a device for closing a garage up-and-over door having manual locking. It is known that wet motor vehicles parked in closed garages rust more rapidly than motor vehicles regularly parked in the open. The invention is intended to eliminate this disadvantage by a closing of the garage up-and-over door not in the conventional vertical position sealing off the air, but in an oblique position which leaves a free passage for the drying air open in the lower region. The simple mechanism required for this is characterised merely by a pivoting shackle which is articulated on the garage floor near the front edge and on the free end of which an engagement orifice for the end piece of the locking rod is provided.
