2,3-dihydroperimidines of formula (I), in which X, m, R<1> and R<2> have the meaning cited in the description, are produced by the reaction of 1-hydroxy-8-aminonaphthalines of formula (II) with carbonyl compounds of the formula (III) in the presence of ammonam and at least one compound of the alkali hydrogen sulfite, ammonium sulfite, alkali sulfite and ammonium hydrogen sulfite group. Said compounds are most suited for producing 1,8-diaminonaphthalines as well as perinon and mono or polyazo dyestuffs. |
