The device provides a component for comparing the stored first code with a second predetermined code stored in a fixed unit (2) in the vehicle in order to stop the function in the electronic accessory when the codes do not coincide. The fixed unit provides for the second code to generate an identification code specific for the vehicle, which includes a coded vehicle identification number, derived from the vehicle chassis number. The accessory is arranged that on installation it can store the second code as first code. - Control equipment controls the comparison component so that it automatically compares the codes on activation of the electronic accessory. The codes are repeatedly compared, as long as the electronic accessory is activated. The comparison component stops the function of the electronic accessory when there is lack of coincidence between the codes during a predetermined, first number of successive comparisons of the codes. |
