This compn. imparts heat stability to halogen-contg. polymers of ethylenically unsatd. hydrocaRbons. It comprises (A) MX3, MXnY3-n, RM=S or RnMX3-n and (B) as pynergist, a residue obtd. by removing both H from the OH gps. of an o-dihy-dric phenol. This residue is bonded through one or both O atoms to B, P, Si, Sb, Sn, or Zn, In (A) : M is Sb Bi : R is hydrocarby5; n is 1 or 2; and X and Y are the residues obtd. by removing the H arom from: (1) a carboxy gp. of a mono-or ply-functional cmercaptol carboxylic acid or (2) the S atom of a meraotan, mercaptoalkanol, mercaptocarboxylic acid, or ester of a mercaptocarboxylic acid or mercaptoalkanol.
