Process for obtaining lignosulphonates from sugar cane. The process comprises the partial evaporation of water contained in the lees or effluents containing unfermented products resulting from the fermentation of sugar cane molasses at controlled temperature to increase the concentration of lignosulphonates present in the aqueous solution up to 45-55% by weight with 10% by weight of insolubles, and, if desired: (a) reducing the insolubles content in the aqueous lignosulphonate solution by separating the same by settling or centrifuging and/or (b) evaporating the said aqueous solution to obtain powdered lignosulphonates. By means of this process an environmental problem in the uncontrolled discharge of lees is solved and a product having surfactant, adhesive and dispersant properties of wide application is obtained. |
