The viewer has right and left optical systems, each of which has a projection lens (5L,R), a focal plane (9L,R) and an eyepiece (11L,R). The viewer also has a film feed (3), which comprises two front and rear windows arranged in the film feed direction. A roll of film (F) is fed into the film feed, so that the photographs pass between the windows and are projected individually onto the focal planes to allow viewing of the stereoscopic images in binocular vision. The viewer may also have a mechanism to control the enlargement of the image to be projected and a mechanism to control the distance of the focal planes from the slides and a lock mechanism to lock the two control mechanisms together.
